One Red Paper Clip Guy
I've got this sitemeter code on my site that tracks what sites people come from and go to from my site and somehow I'm being reffered by this site "http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com". I don't see any links on his page to me so I don't know how it is that someone is going from his site to mine, but I find this fact interesting. His story is interesting, trading a red paper clip for better things until he will eventually trade for a house. You (whoever you are) should check out what he's accomplished in just 10 trades.
Sunday Painting #2 - 11X14 inches
This is probably the best painting I've done up to this point. This is from Easter Sunday, six hours spent on the third floor of the Palette and Chisel. There is a lot of glare in this photo, but I will re-post it after I apply a glaze to the shirt which needs to be a little darker than it is. I'm also thinking of taking it off this frame and re-stretching over a smaller one to crop out the unpainted portion on the left, at least that was my intent when I composed the painting.

Eggs On White T-shirt - 4 X 6 inches
For our anniversary Bevin bought me "Drawing Lessons From The Great Masters" by Robert Beverly Hale. I was introduced to the work of Mr. Hale when I was working in the A/V department of Illinois Central College back in the late nineties. The school had his over 13 hour artistic anatomy lecture series on vhs and I watched most of it while "working" there. He stresses the need to understand basic forms like spheres, cubes and cylinders in order to depict the forms of the figure convincingly. This painting is a response to his advice. Thanks to Bevin's mom Monica for the canvas board.

Sunday Painting #1 - 11 X 14 inches
This is the first oil I've done at the Palette and Chisel during the members-only Sunday Session. There was a workshop happening on the 3rd floor so we painted outside on this somewhat chilly, but sunny day. Bevin says that my signature is too big. It was the smallest brush I had with me.
UPDATE: Just to get a feel for what it's like, I've put this painting up for sale on eBay. You could currently buy it for the low low price of $50!
