Scamming Me?

I believe I may have been the subject of an attempted internet scam. Someone contacted me through email expressing interest "with the purchase of Artworks from your (my) Gallery inventory..."

After a few back and forth emails, the interested party said "I want you to get back to me with your name and address so that (Money Order) can be sent to you for the payment by my client in the State. Do not bother about the shipping cost enquiry,the piece will be picked up at your place by my shipping/clearing agent.You will be receiving a (Money Order) in the sum of $2700.I want you to cash the (Money Order) at your Bank and deduct the amount accrue to the piece. After which you will help me send the balance of the money via Western Union Money Transfer to the Shipping/Clearing agent that will handle the Shipping/Clearing of my items and other custom charges.I want you to get back with both your landline phone number and Mobile number which i can reach you with."

After I explained that this plan was unsatisfactory to me and that I could not accept payment for more than the cost of my products and services, I have not heard from this person after several weeks.
